6 essential todos you must have on your skilled independent visa (subclass 189) document checklist

Last Updated on January 31, 2020 by Christie McEnzie

The Australian Skilled-Independent Visa (subclass 189) is an Australian immigration visa for skilled workers not funded by a hirer, a city or state, or a representative of a family. Anywhere in Australia, a visa holder may work and live indefinitely. The request may also include individual family members.

Skilled–Independent Visa (subclass 189) is built on an application process in three steps

Step 1: The very first step of the application process includes conducting an evaluation of abilities with the appropriate body of government. Your qualifications examination allows the Department of Home Affairs (DOHA) to decide whether you have the skill level needed to work in Australia in your chosen profession.

Step 2: You will have to provide an indication of interest via SkillSelect once you have obtained a satisfactory evaluation of the skills. You can do so in Australia or beyond.

Step 3: When an Invitation to Apply (ITA) has been released, you can proceed to the application’s DOHA phase, where you can send your actual, full request to be accepted by DOHA so that your visa can be issued.

Ensure you follow all of the 189 visa restrictions before applying for your skilled immigration visa. It is suggested to go through the document review for the 189 permission listed and verify if all your documents are in place.

All the Australia 189 visa restrictions are listed here that you need to satisfy to obtain the visa you want:-

General subclass 189 Visa requirements

To get a visa, you have to have an invitation. To receive this invitation, you must apply for an Expression of Interest (EOI) via SkillSelect to fill in all of your abilities, credentials, and information relevant to your designated work. You are awarded points according to certain particulars, and the total scores of all visa applicants last listed against one another. When you have a strong enough rank, you will be invited by the Australian authorities to apply for the visa. You are supposed to receive an invitation letter with 65 points or more.

You will apply for the 189 visa application document within 60 days, once you obtain the invitation. Only those that are below 45 may apply for Visa 189 at the time of entry.

Only if your designated profession is on one of the lists of qualifying specialized businesses can you be granted a 189 visa, and your evaluation of skills by the appropriate evaluating authority indicates you have the necessary qualifications and skills needed for the job.

You must also verify that you have settled any existing debts to the Australian government before applying for a visa, as this can have a significant impact on your visa acceptance. Unless, for whatever reason, you happened to get denied a visa or your visa meant revoked.
