Visa Eligibility Requirements of Entrepreneur business visa

  • Required IELTS score (English Language test).
  • Should have good health.
  • Being of good character.
  • Business candidates need to have investment funds of at least NZ $100,000
  • Applicants are required to score at least 120 points.
  • You should not have any business-related misconduct or scams.

Investor Plus Visa (Investor 1 Category)

Investor Plus Visa Investor 1 Category accepts business owners who want to invest a minimum amount of $10 million in the period of 3 years. And also allows applying for permanent residence.

Applicants can eligible to apply for Immigration New Zealand, for the permanent resident visa, without expression of interest (EOI). Applicants allow traveling in and out of New Zealand for another 2 years.

Visa Eligibility Requirements of Investor Plus business visa

  • No age limit
  • No English requirements.
  • No Business Experience.
  • You should stay at least 46 days per in the investment period.

Investor Visa (Investor 2 Category)

The Investor visa (Investor 2 Category) is completely based on a point-based system. You should score at least 20 points. And your Expression of Interest (EOI) should be considered.

How to calculate the points for Investor visa?

Your points are calculated on the basis of the below criteria.


  • Above 65 years are not allowed to apply for this visa. Different age groups have different points. The maximum point will get 25 or below.
  • Your age 25 years or below you got 35 points. Gradually decreases your points, when your age is increasing (Ex: age 26 -points34, age 27 -points 33….  Your age 60 to 65 you will receive 0 points).

English language score:-

  • Business applicants must have high-level English.
  • Your IELTS test score of 3 or more is required.
  • Your English score 3 you will receive 1 point
  • Your English score is 4 you will receive 4 points.
  • Your English score of 5 or more you will receive 10 points.

Business Experience:-

New Zealand Business visa applicants must have 3 years of experience.

  • You have 3 years experience you will get 9 points.
  • You have 4 years experience you will get 12 points.
  • You have 5 years experience you will get 15 points.
  • You have 7 years experience you will get 21 points.
  • You have 9 years experience you will get 27 points.
  • You have 10 or more years of experience you will get 30 points.

Investment funds:-

Visa applicants should have at least NZ $1.5 million of investment funds. You want to invest NZ$1.5 million funds, you will get 10 points. When your investment increases, then your points also gradually increase. Your investment is NZ$9.75 million, your points are 175.

  • You are eligible to apply for permanent residence.

  • You have a possibility to apply for citizenship after 5 years of permanent residency.

Short Term Business Visitor Visa

New Zealand has designed a flexible business visa system for international business owners who want to do business in New Zealand.

Short term business visitor visa gives a chance to visit the country and attend business meetings. And your company’s sales representatives, buyers, etc can also use this visa for business meetings, sales presentations, etc.

You can not accept to take up employment or set up your business here in New Zealand. However, this visa allows you to study a course in New Zealand for up to 3 months.
